This is the boring page. It sets out what you can expect from me, and what I, in turn I expect from you. At the moment it is not written in legal jargon, however in the fullness of time it will be.

In essence, all it says is that I’ll do my job properly and professionally for you, then you pay me on the night. All transactions are cash based unless agreed otherwise. Don’t cancel without suitable notice (I know sometimes it has to be done - just please don’t do it on the day of the gig because you’ll still get charged - see No.4 - Termination of Contract). Be nice.

This has had to be done because of a minority of people who are taking the ‘mick’. Whenever I make a booking, it is done on the general understanding of ‘I won’t mess you around, so don’t mess me around’ - followed often by a handshake.

These terms and conditions are liable to change without notice as I familiarise myself more with their meaning etc. Of course, if you have any questions, please email me at Dickiediscos@aol.com , or call me on 07809 877 963. I’m always available to talk to anyone...

Terms and Conditions - Please read carefully.

Us/We/I/Me/My refer to The Joss Dickie’s Karaoke/The Joss Dickie/anyone duly authorised by The Joss Dickie’s Karaoke or The joss Dickie.

You/Your/Them/They/He/she/customer/client refer to any customer or client or any party receiving services from The Joss Dickie’s Karaoke or The Joss Dickie.

The Contract and Obligations

1 Olbigations of The Joss Dickie’s Karaoke.

An agreement between The Joss Dickie’s Karaoke and You for services to be rendered at a time and place for a fee. There is an obligation on the part of The Joss Dickie’s Karaoke to arrive promptly and carry out his duties in a professional and courteous manner at all times. I will make any equipment safe and will display safety warning notices appropriate to it.

There will be an exclusion zone around any stage, or any area used as a stage for the purposes of carrying out my duties. Anyone entering the exclusion zone can do so only with the sole consent of The Joss Dickie’s Karaoke.

The Joss Dickie’s Karaoke will provide suitable entertainment in any such venue where he works as agreed with you for so long as the agreed contract shall last. This agreed contract shall last for the duration of any gig until a consensual ‘finish’ time is reached or until the agreement is terminated by either party. (See Termination of Contract).

While on ‘duty’, The Joss Dickie’s Karaoke will at all times behave in a professional and courteous manner at the venue in which he is employed

2 Your Obligations.

You will provide a suitable location for The Joss Dickie’s Karaoke to set-up and perform safely. You will provide a power supply that is not within easy reach of the general public. You will also assist in any reasonable request made by the Joss Dickie or his authorised staff pertaining to the safety of any installation of Disco/Karaoke equipment and the operation thereof.

3 The Contract

The contract by its nature is considered to be satisfied at the end of any appointment for work (gig). It is also considered to be a renewable rolling contract for an indefinite period or until an agreed termination date and/or time is reached, or unless agreed otherwise before the end of the current contract or at the time of initial negotiation of the first contract. The contract date is the same date on which the gig is due to be performed.

The contract includes up to five free non-alcoholic drinks or unlimited cordial drinks for the Joss Dickie or his representative for the duration of the contract. A drink is defined as the standard measure in which a drink is usually served e.g. a bottle of fruit juice is considered a drink. A larger standard bottle of soft drink is also considered a drink.

4 Termination of The Contract

Termination can be made by either party. Notice of Termination by the customer must be given no later than 9:00 am on the Monday before the gig. This gives me a chance to replace the appointment and therefore continue my business as a going concern. Late notification of cancellation will lead to the full fee becoming payable within seven (7) days of the due date. The due date is usually regarded as the same day as the contract date. If The Joss Dickie is unable to provide his own services for a given contract, he will attempt (but is not obliged) to provide (at his sole discretion) a suitable alternative form of entertainment if one is available. Circumstances beyond my control can affect the outcome of any forthcoming bookings, and service is provided by The Joss Dickie’s Karaoke on that understanding.

5 Monies

Any monies due are cash based. This is particularly important in this business and is considered to be normal method of payment. Any other types of payment will attract a substantial surcharge, (typically 50%) unless otherwise agreed at the time of the booking.

There are generally considered to be three (3) premium rate days within a calendar year; these are; Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Eve. These days attract a separate fee structure to any other gigs, and prices are available on application.

6 Services

Services rendered by The Joss Dickie include but are not limited to: karaoke, disco, quiz nights, wedding receptions etc. Each of these services are offered in a different format and are therefore priced separately from each other.
